Connecticut Core Standards (CCS)
On July 7, 2010, with a unanimous vote, the Connecticut State Board of Education adopted new national academic standards, known as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English Language Arts and Mathematics that will establish what Connecticut's public school students should know and be able to do as they progress through Grades K-12.
The Connecticut Core Standards address the vision of what it means to be a literate person in the 21st century and are designed to better prepare students for college and career. We, at The Barkhamsted School, have aligned our curricula to address the expectations of the CCS. The links below represent more detailed information about the Connecticut Core Standards.
